I
have been caring for children in our home since our
oldest son was born in September 1997. I have cared
for wonderful children and have watched them all grow
and learn so many things while in my care. I grew
up on the south side of Milwaukee, and when I graduated
high school, I pursued the Child Care Field, and enrolled
at Milwaukee Area Technical College. I started
working with a Child Care center that was being run
by my Church. I thoroughly enjoyed spending most
of my days teaching young children and working with
their parents to help the children develop to the best
of their abilities. I successfully completed the
classes of Child Care Teacher I, Child Care Teacher
II, and Child Care Director, which made me a "Certified
Child Care Teacher" in the state of Wisconsin.
I enjoyed working at the Child Care Center,
teaching with some wonderful people and moving from
Assistant Teacher for 4 and 5 year olds to the Head
teacher for 2 and 3 year olds. After 5 years of
loving my job the center had to sadly close their doors. It was a very hard time
for me after caring for some of those children for 5
years, 8 hours a day, and before and after school. When
the Child Care closed, I wondered how I would like a
job in the clerical field after I had studied that field
while in high school. I pursued the idea and went
to work for DHL Worlwide Express for 7 years in their
Customer Service department. Working with customers,
drivers, and the sales department to have shipments
picked up, travel through customs, and get them delivered
to their recipients in a timely manner. At DHL, it was
very exciting working with personal resident shipments,
and high corporate accounts to help their shipments
move through customs, in all countries and speak to people
from all over the world. It was a Wonderful experience.
Shane and I were married in April
of 1996 and I decided to take some time off for myself
and take care of things at home. While I loved making
a nice home for us, and thinking of starting our family,
I was still very interested in the Child Care field.
During my time off I studied up on Child Care,
took another class for, "Infant and Toddler
Care", and checked into starting my own In-home
Family
Child Care. While refreshing myself with teaching young
children and did, what seems like tons of research on
starting my own Child Care busniness. When I became
pregnant, the idea of running a business while being
able to care for my own child was the perfect way for
me to go. Three of the many things I pride myself in
about running a Child Care is "Lots of Patience",
"Being Very Organized", and most importantly:
"One on One Loving Attention with all the Children".
"I
Love spending time with children and helping them learn
about life, growing up, and all the fun that goes along
with those experiences."
Kaye
I
can remember back to as young as the age of 9 watching
my 2 year old neighbor and having so much fun. I
now have raised my own two children and realize how rewarding it is to nurture them
into the confident and understanding children they are.
I have done this through having good self esteem,
patience, and being attentive. I feel I am qualified
and open minded to share my knowledge respectfully with
the children in Kaye's House Child Care. For the
past years while raising my 2 children, I have
used my time dependably with an energetic and approachable
attitude with all of the children. For my education
I have successfully completed Early Childhood I, which
qualifies me to be an Assitant Child Care Teacher at
Kaye's House, and I will be enrolling in more classes as
time goes on. My personal interests as being a
parent and involved with working at Kaye's House Child
Care reflect my creative artistic nature which helps
the children experience not only colors, but sight,
sound, and texture. I believe my understading and
energetic attitude qualifies me to care for the children
and make them feel safe and secure while having fun.
